CPS CLICKERS

What does CPS mean?  And what is it?

CPS stands for Classroom Performance Systems.   CPS is a technological way to assess students. The instructor is able to ask objective and subjective questions to each student. The questions can be asked verbally, or be pre-arranged.  With the help of a projector, pre-arranged questions are displayed for each student to view.  Each student answers their questions with anonymity with a remote control device ("clicker").  A radio or infrared transmitter picks up the student's response and sends it to the computer, which stores the responses and can provide detailed reports. This system allows instructors to obtain immediate feedback from each student. The system keeps a log of every class session, so student records are always available.

As advertised to teachers: You can engage every child in class material by creating an interactive learning environment in your classroom. Students who normally remain silent in class can now answer every question without fear of embarrassment. And since you see instant feedback from the entire class, you know whether to move on or continue teaching a concept.   CPS also streamlines administrative tasks. Now you can spend less time grading and more time teaching. Take attendance, grade tests and quizzes, create lessons, and generate personalized reports automatically!
